February 28 Day Challenge

Updated: Jun 27, 2022

Time for something a little bit different. Throughout February I am going to set a challenge a day. There will be at least one thing to choose from each day which will be centered around decluttering, organising or self-care. None of the challenges should take longer than 10 minutes.

Every day I will post the challenges on Instagram at: https://www.instagram.com/linda_j_harper/

I am going to be doing the challenges myself and I will document this too!

How will it work?

Part One

The first challenge will be ongoing throughout the month and you can choose which you want to do, if this is all you want to do or if you want to do this alongside the daily challenges.

You can choose to declutter one item a day for 28 days. At the end of the challenge you will have decluttered 28 items from your home.

OR

You can choose to declutter 1 object on day 1, 2 objects on day 2, 3 objects on day 3 etc by the end of this challenge you will have decluttered 406 things!!

OR

You can do the above challenge backwards starting with 28 things on day 1, 27 things on day 2, 26 things on day 3. etc.

How do I find 28 things to declutter?!! Well it could be you decide to clear out a pencil case, or your make up bag. It doesn't have to be 28 large items, just try to find 28 things that you no longer need or love.

Part Two

The second challenge is made up of different daily challenges which will be posted on Instagram and Facebook.

For example the challenge for February 1st is TIDY YOUR CARBOOT / TRUNK. If you don't have a car - find a confined area where you tend to store the 'I'll do this later' items.

I have developed 28 challenges - from tidying to sorting and from self care to contacting a friend. As I said above none of them should take more than 10 minutes, if it looks like it may take longer than that and you don't have the time, maybe make a note of that particular challenge for someday coming up when you are at a loss where to begin, and instead do some extra decluttering as in Part One of the challenge.

TOOLS NEEDED

For all the challenges I recommend using a timer, set for 10 minutes. You can use your phone or the oven timer. Some music is always helpful too!

For the decluttering challenges you will need a couple of bags or boxes and some way to mark them as Rubbish/Trash and Donate. As you are moving through the house pop the item/s you find into one of the bags and when you have finished for the day put them somewhere it will be easy to continue to use them the next day.

As for the individual 28 Day Challenges it depends on the particular challenge,

you can find a Free Printable copy of the full 28 Challenges in my Shop here on the website.
