This week I am trying something new! Please bear with......
Today's clearout is my ShShShtudio. Over the last few weeks I've spent a lot of time on various projects and sadly neglected my own space! So I decided to take my own medicine and sort it out! I have bought a new camcorder, which has been on my wishlist for ages and decided to try and show you the ShShShtudio on film in all its messy glory!!
A quick tour! I hope the camera wobble doesn't affect you!
My main problem was finding homes for everything, if it's got a home I will put it away , but if it hasn't got somewhere to go it just gets stuffed into a drawer or added to another pile! So my priority was to find practical homes for everything and to get rid of all the bits of fabric and other things I wasn't going to use or didn't belong in the space.
Knowing the type of person I am I know I prefer my things hidden away but easy to find so by reorganising the drawers and categorising the contents I would feel more organised. I put like with like. I love pens and use them a lot when taking notes and journaling or planning so wanted them to be very handy and all together. I also like to be a bit crafty, so craft items are together. I followed this trend throughout the room even to the extent that I have created labels for the drawers in my fabric cupboard!
This next video is of the after, I love the drawer labels! Knowing that I have a home for everything and can find anything I need really helps me be more productive and creative!
I always feel more productive, calmer and happier in a less cluttered environment. It goes to show how different we all are as I know a lot of people need to be surrounded by things in order to feel inspired and creative! This is where my training comes into play, knowing how to declutter and reorgainse for different people. It is easy to think we all know what it means to 'tidy' but in reality 'tidy' means very different things to each and every one of us!
If you think I can help you understand what your 'style of tidy' is, and you need more hands on help to find a way to create a clutter free, more organised home, I can help you in person (depending on current guidelines) or virtually. Contact me to see how we can work together to find the solution to your own situation.
